What do parents need to know?

If you are considering sending your child to FEMF for the weekend, we understand that you’ll have some questions. We are determined to create the safest possible environment for your child and to make sure you are well informed of what will happen at FEMF 2012.

FEMF’s mission: The festival exists to cultivate good quality music made by Christian artists that promotes a positive message. All of the bands playing at the Festival have their Christian faith as a core element of what they do. The event is non-denominational and aims to unite young people from all across Victoria.

What does the FEMF look like?

The festival is run from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon and will include 40+ bands of various genres as well as the opportunity to hear amazing speakers and to worship God together on several occasions throughout the weekend. It is a strictly drug and alcohol free event and also has clearly set guidelines for the standard of behaviour that is expected from all patrons. The event will be supervised by security and will be run in co-operation with the local police.

What do youth leaders need to know?

With the FEMF being on a long weekend during term 1, it is a fantastic way for youth groups to kick their year off and we are determined to make the festival an experience that is beneficial, challenging and inspirational. If you have a youth group that you’d like to bring, we would love to see you at the Festival and have very intentionally shaped the event to be really beneficial to you and your young people. If you would like to speak more with us about this please contact us on (03) 5952 3135.

Are there discounts if we come as a group?

We have some SENSATIONAL deals available for groups. Just visit the "Tickets" section of our website.

What can I do to help promote FEMF 2011?

We would love to send you some promotional material. Contact us to get more information.

Do the bands and artists that play have to be Christian?

A central part of the consideration for each band that applies is the message they communicate from both on and off the stage. A band doesn’t have to be marketed as a Christian band to qualify to play, but it is central to our mission that the core members of the band are Christians. In some cases, individual members may not be Christian, but we see this as an opportunity to continue to love them and journey with them.

How do you decide what bands and artists play?

The FEMF is committed to cultivating a high standard of music in Victoria being made by Christian people. To do this we aim to accept bands that we feel present both the musical strength and the strength of character to fulfill the mission of the festival. If you are in a band or have your own solo project we would love to here from you. Application forms are available HERE.
