Groups

One of our core aims for the Forest Edge Music Festival has been to make it as easy as possible for Youth Groups to attend. We started with the question of, "What's going to work best for Youth Groups?" and we think we've done pretty well...

Camping
All Youth Groups who register for FEMF2012 will have an allocated camping site within the Youth Groups camping area. Early access on the day to set up tents etc. can also be arranged if required.

Catering
We know that one of the biggest considerations in taking a group of young people away for the weekend is organising the food. So we are excited to announce that all Youth Groups who register for FEMF2012 will receive FREE CATERING! You will be provided with completely free meals that are simple, healthy and tasty from Breakfast on Saturday through to Lunch on Sunday.

Ticketing
We have aimed to make purchasing your group's tickets as simple as possible, with options for group purchases via credit card or invoice. But also the ability for individual group members to buy their tickets have them added into the group package.

Administration
Time is precious, and we want your time to be spent investing into the lives of young people, not filling out our paperwork! As a registered youth group organiser, you will get a login to be able to edit and update your group details, and all we need to know are the names of those in your group and any special dietary requirements.

Fun!
In addition to all this, we're looking at some ways to make coming as a Youth Group even more fun, such as entering teams in our inaugural FEMF Dodgeball Championship- Playing against other Youth Groups, and even some of your favourite bands to take home the glory!

Conditions:

How many Leaders do we need to bring?
You need to bring enough Leaders to adequately supervise your group. This should be no less than one Leader for every ten youth group members. Please note that anyone who is over high school age will be considered a Leader in terms of the free catering provided, at an allowed ratio of one Leader to every four youth group members. If you have special circumstances requiring higher than a 1:4 ratio, please contact luke@forestedge.org.au to discuss.

Can parents attend as part of our group?
Parents or other adults (ie. who are not your regular "Youth Group Leaders") may be included as part of the Leadership of your group, and will also receive free catering so long as your group fits into the 1:4 ratio of leaders to youth. Any Leaders/adults outside of this ratio will need to supply their own food or choose from the variety of food vendors that will be present at FEMF2012. For guidelines on cooking your own food, please see the 'Camping A-Z' section of the website.

What about children under 10?
In general, the youth group catering package on offer only applies to paid, ticket-holding patrons. Whilst children under 10 in a family scenario are allowed to attend the festival free of charge, this does not include the catering package. If parents* coming as part of the Leadership of your group have children under ten years of age, we may be able to make some exceptions to this rule. Please contact luke@forestedge.org.au to discuss.
*We ask all group leaders to be mindful of the responsibility of supervision required at the festival for young children by their parent/s and how this may impact on their ability to supervise youth
